About Us

E Ho’i Mai Lole was born from a dream to E Ho’i Mai or return home to Hawai’i after years of living on the US continent. With more than 30 years of friendship woven between us, our journey has taken us from the shores of Hawai’i to opposite sides of the continent: Elyse has built her life in Denver for over 20 years, where she is raising her two young children, Easton and Imari, carrying forward the strength, values and aloha instilled in her by her mother, Aunty Jeanine, whose memory continues to guide and inspire her. Nāpua has called the DC area home since 2001, raising her three keiki, building community with other Kanaka via hula hãlau, alumni association and Civic Club - ultimately making a bold career pivot into entrepreneurship as the owner operator of Pua’s Plate Lunch, a Hawaiian mobile food & catering service rooted in perpetuating Hawai’i’s unique and vibrant food culture while also promulgating Hawaiian culture.

While our living experiences were very different, we chose to remain connected to each other through the pilina developed as haumāna at Kamehameha. Even with many miles and landscapes between us, our aloha for Hawai’i has always been our grounding force. We created E Ho’i Mai Lole as a way to celebrate our culture and share with other Kānaka in the pā maumau (diaspora) that through hard work, sacrifice and perseverance, we can go home.

Every piece we design is inspired by mo’olelo, kaiāulu, childhood memories and the spirit of Hawai’i and its beautifully woven fabric of cultural and ethnic diversity  all of which  celebrate. Our clothing is more than fabric - it is a reminder of where we come from, honoring the kūpuna who paved the way and the ‘āina that forever calls us back. Through this brand, we are carving our path home, one design at a time.

Mahalo for being a part of our journey and for allowing us to share our aloha with you.

E ho’i mai me māua. E huaka’i kākou.

Me ka ‘Oia’i’o,

Elyse & Nāpua

Mission

E Ho‘i Mai Lole exists to celebrate and perpetuate Hawaiian culture through thoughtfully designed clothing that honors our mo‘olelo, kupuna, and ‘āina—creating a pathway home for Kānaka living in the diaspora and a reminder that aloha is carried wherever we go.

Vision

We envision a future where Kānaka everywhere feel deeply connected to Hawai‘i, empowered to honor their identity, and inspired to return home—physically, culturally, and spiritually—through community, creativity, and shared aloha.

Core Values

Aloha ‘Āina

Our love for Hawai‘i is the foundation of everything we do. We honor the land that raised us and the Kuleana responsibility we carry to protect, respect, and perpetuate it for future generations.

Kūpuna Wisdom

We are guided by the teachings, sacrifices, and strength of our kūpuna. Their ʻike informs our designs, our decisions, and the way we show up for our community.

Mo‘olelo & Culture

Every piece we create tells a story—rooted in history, memory, and lived experiences. We design with intention to perpetuate Hawaiian culture with authenticity humility and respect.

Pilina & Community

Our brand is born from lifelong friendship sustained by connection. We believe in building and nurturing pilina with Kānaka across the pae ‘āina and throughout the diaspora.
